RECTOR: MAHAD AL-JAMIAH RUSUNAWA IS THE PESANTREN OF IAIN PALU

Palu, (PR-IAIN Palu) - Rector of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palu, Central Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. H. Sagaf S Pettalongi MPd, in Tipo Village, said that the student rusunawa managed by Mahad Al-jamiah is a pesantren of IAIN Palu.

"Mahad Al-Jamiah is a pesantren of campus, of IAIN Palu," said Prof. Dr. H Sagaf S Pettalongi MPd, in Tipo Village, Ulujadi District, on Monday.

When delivering speech at the inauguration of student rental buildings, Prof. Sagaf Pettalongi said that rusunawa managed by Mahad Al-Jamiah should be utilized properly.

ThIs education management expert explained that studentS’ rusunawa became one of the pillars in human resource development that impacted on improving the quality and competitiveness of IAIN Palu.

Therefore, there needs to be methods in the effort to improve the quality, intellectual, skills, emotional stability and the practice of each material taught to students.

"Director of Mahad Al-Jamiah must innovate the coaching program," he said.

IAIN Palu plans to require all new students to follow the guidance under the control of Mahad Al-Jamiah. Under the institution, the new students will have the consolidation of English and Arabic foreign skills. Then the study of yellow books and other deep Islamic sciences.

Therefore, Prof. Sagaf expressed the success of students in line with the ideals of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, should be supported by the establishment in the institution of Mahad Al-Jamiah.

"The guidance system will be done every two months. The students will take turns at rusunawa because the capacity of the building and room is limited, especially if the new students amount to 2,000. However, for international students, will stay during the study period," he explained.

IAIN Palu received the assistance of two rusunawa buildings from the central government, built during 2012 and 2013. The construction of the two rusunawa buildings is done on an area of approximately 6,846 square meters.
